⭐ STAR Teacher – Where students meet their future
STAR Teacher is our signature event that brings exceptional leaders together to share their personal and career journeys with our under‑resourced students, enriching their learning experiences and increasing public awareness about the importance of education and the teaching profession.

Under our project funded by HSBC Hong Kong The Hongkong Bank Foundation, we were honored to invite Grace Davis, Ramsha Minhaj, and Ayana Mukanova as STAR Teachers, joining us to reach over 180 students.
“Tell people about your dreams, start believing in them, and don’t be put off by failures.”
Grace brought a thoughtful and inspiring perspective by weaving her personal career journey into practical advice for students navigating uncertainty about their future. Through engaging activities and honest reflections, she encouraged students to believe in their dreams, use their time wisely, and embrace failure and change as part of growth. Her openness and energy sparked genuine curiosity among students, shifting their perceptions of careers in banking and inspiring many to think more boldly about their own paths.
“Be curious — question things and explore.”
Ramsha and Ayana, both at earlier stages of their careers, brought a refreshing and deeply relatable energy. They shared openly about their journeys — from navigating school in Hong Kong, starting out in unfamiliar paths, to building their lives independently while staying curious and proactive. Ramsha’s story of breaking into a marketing role without a traditional background highlighted the power of curiosity and initiative, while Ayana’s honest reflections on moving to Hong Kong alone and finding her way through uncertainty offered grounded, practical reassurance. From journaling and seeking support from communities to simply asking questions, their advice felt real and accessible. Many students saw reflections of themselves in their stories, and that genuine connection made their sharing just as impactful as any career advice.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to #HSBCHongKongCommunityPartnershipProgramme2025 for making this series possible for our partner school. These students brim with untapped potential, what they need is a guiding light – a chance to peer through the window into the world beyond their immediate circumstances. This is where the STAR Teacher steps in, serving as a conduit to expose these young minds to new realms of possibility.
