About 2024 Youth Ambassador
As Teach For Hong Kong launches our new Community Program which focuses on connecting students Life, Career and Community Exploration in Kwun Tong District through project-based learning, we look for passionate young university students to be a part of this program as Youth Ambassadors (“YAs”).
This Community Program is in partnership with VolTra, a youth development organization that promotes Global Citizenship through Action Learning programs in Hong Kong.
As a Youth Ambassador, you are part of our movement to drive systemic change in education equity and youth leadership development. You will work closely with our team members, students and other ambassadors on this impactful community program throughout the year. We will support our YAs to shoulder real responsibilities and deliver meaningful outcomes for the organization.
Along the way, you will gain better insight into the non-profit and education sectors, and have a clearer picture of your role in driving social impact and achieving education equity in Hong Kong, as well as develop frontline understanding on enhancing students’ Life, Career and Community learning.
Your Commitments
Working Mode: Working in TFHK office & Delivering workshops in schools in Kwun Tong
Location: Lai Chi Kok office & Schools in Kwun Tong

Duration: September 2024 - December 2024

Your Responsibilities As Youth Ambassador
As a YA, your commitment will be as follows:
Develop Student Learning Program Materials
Develop program materials and design activities for community exploration
Design quest-based campaigns on Life, Career and Community exploration in Kwun Tong
Deliver In-School Life, Career & Community Learning Program
Deliver 8-10 session of in-school learning program to a group of 15-20 students, the learning program is comprised of in-class sessions on personal development and career exploration, out-of-classroom community exploration sessions and project-learning sessions supporting students in creating quest campaigns
Support students in understanding personal strengths and weaknesses, exploring career landscape in Kwun Tong and connecting career awareness to community development
Facilitate and monitor the progress of student-curated quest campaigns and ongoing campaigns participation rate
Attend Training on Leadership Development and Program Facilitation
Attend 6-10 training sessions provided by TFHK and VolTra
Internal training on essential skills for experiential learning and project learning, practical program facilitation skills and knowledge on leading life and career education
External training on community research and action learning design
Developing Marketing Materials
Support in collecting student stories from the community program and interesting facts about Kwun Tong District to create marketing and display materials
Support in developing promotional marketing materials promoting online quest campaigns to wider students

Strong interest in working professionally to bring education equity
Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with high proficiency in Chinese and English
A positive can-do, open-minded attitude
Well-organized, responsible, detail-oriented, systematic, presentable, a proven team player, and self-starter
Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite
Proficient in Canva/PS/AI/InDesign/Premier Pro will be a plus
Proficient in coding i.e., JAVA, Python will be a plus
Experience in working with children or students, as well as designing workshops and programs, will be a plus

You will work closely with our team members on important and impactful projects. We develop our interns to shoulder real responsibilities and deliver meaningful outcomes for the organization.
Along the way, you will gain better insight into the non-profit and education sectors, and have a clearer picture of your role in driving social impact and achieving education equity in Hong Kong.

Requirement: 1-2 days per week

Your Role As an Intern
You will be mainly attached to one operating team while having the chance and flexibility to engage in work scope from 1-2 other areas of our non-profit operation.
Marketing and Recruitment Intern
Create a story hub by conducting interviews with our Fellows and alumni from diverse backgrounds (e.g. education, nonprofit, social impact, business, technology, etc.)
Support with marketing activities such as an annual report, social media, events planning, and content development (e.g design, copywriting)
Conduct comprehensive market research and organize the research findings
Assist in candidate screening and selection
Support with planning and execution of online and offline recruitment/ marketing events
Technology Development Intern
Assist in the implementation of a new database system
Improve data organisation practices and maintain the database up-to-date
Program Management Intern
Assist in the planning and execution of ongoing training and activities for Fellowship cohort, including but not limited to logistics support and event facilitation
Prepare and participate in partnership/ school meetings with our team
Conduct research and design for the Fellowship Program enhancement on topics of leadership development, action research, coaching, etc.
Community Engagement Intern
Coordinate with our Fellows and corporate partners in planning and executing Life and Career Education activities for students in our partner schools
Assist in partnership management (e.g. campus units, professors, other nonprofits or youth organizations)
Support in planning and executing community projects, including, but not limited to, conducting research

Induction
The induction program will equip you with the mindset, knowledge and professional ethics to excel in the education/ philanthropy sector.
Develop
Alongside on-the-job training, there will be opportunities to develop yourself through problem-solving exercises and action learning projects. It will give you a real understanding of what it takes to shine in the education/ philanthropy sector.
Exposure
There will be ample opportunities to interact and learn from our senior management and colleagues. Our Mentors and Buddies will keep you inspired and engaged, and get your prepared for the career development in future. We also hold internal and external events where you can further broaden your horizons.
Acceleration
Feedback is essential for performance and career acceleration, and you will receive on-going input from management and peers. This will help you keep track of progress, discover personal strengths, and identify the development needs.
